Why Cerakote?
What is Cerakote?
Cerakote is a ceramic based finish that can be applied to metals, plastics, polymers and wood. The unique formulation used for Cerakote ceramic coating enhances a number of physical performance properties including abrasion/wear resistance, corrosion resistance, chemical resistance, impact strength, and hardness. Each of these properties is rigorously tested to guarantee that Cerakote products remain at the forefront of the ceramic coatings market. Cerakote ceramic coatings utilize state-of-the-art technology to out-perform any competitive coating in both laboratory settings and real world applications.

“How durable is Cerakote??”

I Can’t tell you how many times I have heard this question. Cerakote is more durable than any other aftermarket sprayed on finish. There are many types of finishes, sprayed, chemical, plated to name a few. Nickel, Hard Chrome are some of the most durable finishes you can use but have their limits as far as color choice! The combination of Cerakote H Series and Cerakote’s new Armor Clear makes our finishes even more durable than non-cleared work.

As far as wear, it’s natural for items to wear due to heat and friction. Cerakote isn’t the cure-all, end-all solution but it will last if it is properly taken care of. I often use a silicon cloth to wipe down my slide. It helps reduce friction and prolong your Cerakote finish.
